Three Most Frequent Mistakes Women Make When Choosing Homecoming Dresses

Many a woman is excited about the upcoming homecoming at her old high school or college, and no wonder. They have made a lot of friends over there, they have found their first loves over there, basically, the place, and the people associated with that place, is a source of a lot of sweet memories after all. Yet, they find it very difficult to abandon the competitive approach towards theses events. The majority of them, especially those who during their school years were rather unattractive and over the years have changed from an ugly duckling to a magnificent swan, wants to make an impression on all former male friends and elicit envy in girlfriends. Unfortunately, such a mindset is very often a source of cardinal mistakes when it comes to choosing homecoming dresses. If you are preparing for such an event, read on to know what are the three most frequent mistakes these women make.

To begin with, they do not look at their bodies critically. They are so set on wearing a short, tight, and revealing dress in order to make every man crazy about them that they often forget that their figure is not so perfect, to say the least. This type of a dress can be worn only by those women who are still relatively young, have slim figures, and legs as beautiful as the Greek goddess, Aphrodite. The exception is a cleavage, though. If you cannot show your legs, but you have an ample bosom and soft skin, you can wear a dress with a revealing cleavage. However, whatever your figure is, do not go into extremes. It is OK if you look mildly seductive and flirtatious, but it is not OK at all to look like a pole dancer.

The second mistake is the wrong choice of colors. First of all, homecoming dresses do not look so well when they are multicolored. Single-colored are perfect, two-colored can be still interesting and pretty, but three and more colors on your dress will create a rainbow effect that is not appropriate for the occasion whatsoever, unless your homecoming will be held outside, under the summer Sun. In other cases, you should pick a formal gown that will not make you look like a small, lost girl. Do not choose a black color, though. It will make you look like you came straight from a funeral.

Lastly, many women do not think their choice of accessories through. They want to show themselves with their most expensive designer purses, for example, that they do not even notice that it goes horribly with their outfit. Remember that accessories, jewelry included, have to match the gown. Therefore, a purse has to share a color with your dress, and a necklace cannot be too heavy or original. In fact, in case of accessories it is always better to take less than too many.

Now that you know what things to avoid when choosing homecoming dresses you are ready to prepare for your own event. As a last piece of advice, do not think about looking better than everyone else, but about having a great fun. With such mindset you are bound to make everyone crazy about you.
