Liberal Talk-Show Host Mike Malloy Claims Dick Cheney Eats Jewish, Muslim Babies
When it comes to politics, mudslinging is nothing new. It seems everyone from politicians to news media to commentators to comics is bashing anybody and everybody even remotely involved in the political scene. Occasionally it is done in a light-hearted manner, or to add a bit of humor to a potentially tense situation. Occasionally the humor is lost on the audience. Many times the humor ends up being offensive. Those individuals who either intentionally or accidentally cross the line by saying something truly horrific generally end up paying the price for such ill-conceived commentary, sometimes even losing a job as a result (think Don Imus).
Mike Malloy is a liberal talk-show commentator who hosts his own show. He is a minor success, with his syndicated show carried in a dozen markets as diverse as Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, as well as on Sirius and XM satellite radio. His name does not carry the clout of, say, a Rush Limbaugh or a Michael Savage, but he does have a loyal following. One would expect that someone of his caliber would end up being called on the carpet for making what amounts to racial slurs. Then again, maybe not.
Earlier this week Malloy commented on former Vice-President Dick Cheney, who last Wednesday accepted an award at the Center for Security Policy in Washington. Cheney denounced President Obama for his indecision relating to Afghanistan (the actual word Cheney used was "dithering"). Cheney is always fodder for those on the left, but Malloy seems to have taken attack mode to an entirely new, and offensive, level. Malloy expressed his opinion of Cheney's appearance at the ceremony by saying:
"Cheney, by the way looks very ruddy; I couldn't get over that like he must have feasted on a Jewish baby, or a Muslim baby; he must have sent his people out to get one and bring it back so he could drink its blood, because that's what somebody like Cheney does to get that ruddy look.
"It was scary to see. This was not makeup; and the weird part is there were no dribbles of blood down his tux. But it was very clear that he had been eating the blood of a Jewish or a Muslim baby. He wouldn't eat a Christian baby. If he ate the blood of a Christian baby, there's something in the old writings that said that instantly the trap door to Hell opens and you disappear into the smoke, so it's got to be a Muslim or a Jewish baby; and you drink the blood and you're healthy again if you're somebody like Dick Cheney...."

Had Rush Limbaugh stated that our standing President has a light complexion because he drinks the blood of Caucasian babies, the conservative talk-show icon would have been out of a job faster than you could say "racist bigot", with possible criminal charges assessed because of his "hate crime". Is there any outrage by either the Jewish or Muslim communities over what Malloy has said? Evidently not. I do not know if this is because Cheney is no longer a force to be reckoned with in politics (in which case, why bother with attacking a non-threat?). It might be that the media believes that Cheney deserves whatever he gets, regardless of how many other innocent individuals and/or groups have to suffer along with him (as long as they are not liberals, of course). Or perhaps it is simply that Malloy is not a high-profile individual and therefore not worthy of public defamation. I have my opinion as to why Malloy has been allowed a free pass on his racist comments. I believe most common-sense individuals see the picture here, and it is one filled with racism, prejudice, and inequality.
The next time someone suggests that this nation resurrect the Fairness Doctrine, I will have to ask if this means that all individuals will be treated with fairness, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or political affliation--or if it means that only liberals will be allowed to be bigots.
